In gratitude to y’all for enduring a month of promotional missives about The Grove, this week ahead is free for you to read.

I truly appreciate your understanding that I’m a self-employed creative who still has to pay rent at the end of the day; the fact that you didn’t unsubscribe means more than you know. I hope you’ve been able to spend this heartache of a weekend catching up on Bridgerton, The Pitt, and whatever art is bringing you respite in this current moment.

Do’s & Don’t’s for the week of March 1, 2026

  • DO take it easy, dear god. We have an eclipse. Mercury Rx. Mars in Pisces, coming off a Mars-Uranus square. This is not the week to push your limits or try to rocket toward stretch goals. Slow and steady, friends! Slow and steady!

  • DON’T forget to move your body — and this doesn’t have to mean “exercise.” Stretch! Five minute Tai Chi videos on YouTube! Chair yoga! It’s Pisces season, and with Mars here, gentle flow is the way. (Also helps move emotion through the body.)

  • DO give yourself space to brainstorm with Tuesday’s eclipse — it’s got some decidedly creative breakthrough energy (more on that with the coming newsletter).

  • DON’T overlook the power of a well-timed body shower to help the thoughts Unstick themselves.

  • DO read stories, essays, and poems that fuel that inner fire and sense of justice, especially come the end of week. Audre Lorde, N.K. Jemisin, Angela Carter, Octavia Butler, Rebecca Solnit: put ‘em at the top of the TBR. We need to remember that women and queer writers have been writing in Such Times As These for eons.

  • DON’T let what’s going on in the world talk you out of doing your art. We need you, and we need your writing, too. Every last one of us. You never know where you’ll make an impact.

Reading: I’ve been remiss in my reading as of late. I blew through the first 3/4 of Bloody Crowns: A New History of the Hundred Years War by Michael Livingston last month, but have stalled out, and on the Joan of Arc chapter, no less. I simply need to get back to it.

Listening: My sister has me on Hilary Duff’s wonderful new album “luck… or something,” which delivers complex storytelling about decidedly adult themes like family estrangement through nostalgic Millennial pop. Yes, it’s Carly Rae Jepsen-esque, but I love it. This is what Swifties wish Taylor was doing.

Also, we’ve got a new March forecast for you at Call Your Coven:

A journaling prompt: We are officially three months into the year. Take a moment to take stock. What has gone according to plan, and what hasn’t? What opportunities have arisen unexpectedly? Where have you taken yourself off autopilot in the interest of being more present and conscious? Celebrate the wins, however seemingly small.

The week’s astrology, technically speaking:

Monday, March 2nd: Mars enters Pisces

Tuesday, March 3rd: the virgo eclipse! which gets its own newsletter

Wednesday, March 4th: Venus in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus

Thursday, March 5th: Sun in Pisces trine Jupiter Rx in Cancer

Friday, March 6th: Venus enters Aries

Saturday, March 7th: Venus in Aries conjunct Neptune in Aries; Mercury Rx in Pisces conjunct Sun in Pisces
